The Amy Thomas Tribute Fund

I want to thank my nephew Joseph Thomas and his friend Joe Lear for completing the both mad and amazing Charity Drive to all 20 Premier League Stadiums for Asthma UK in memory of Amy. By my calculations from door to door they covered 1529 miles in just over 54 hours and even managed to fit in their beloved Newcastle United match at Southampton.  They have raised over £4000 for Asthma UK.

Thank you to all who entered our Sunflower growing competition.  The tallest sunflower was 8 foot (243 cm) and the winners are Sophie and Andrew.  Sarah, Poppy and Lily win a prize for shortest 50cm!!  Joe wins a prize for best excuse "A leprechaun riding a unicorn stole ours it was 17 foot tall!!!" and Tracy for that age old excuse of "the dog ate mine"!!!! hahaha

Thank you to everyone who donated and entered our 2nd Sunflower Competition.  Congratulations to Kelly for the winning Sunflower at 11'5half, 2nd place Kelly and family 11 foot and 3rd place Julie 9'9.  You all helped raise £487.50 in memory of Amy for Asthma UK.

Amy’s dad Martin decided to do a charity walk from our home town Glastonbury to Glasgow (ending at Finnieston crane) back on March 8th of this year. He made good progress and in 8 days walked an incredible 160 miles to the small town of Tarporley in Cheshire. Unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic struck and he understandably came home to be with his family at this time. On July 11th when lock down had eased he started up again from Tarporley. Over the next 10 days he completed the remaining 230 odd miles to Finnieston Crane in Glasgow.He has raised over £10000 for Asthma UK and we are all very proud of him. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your donations, love and support. We are again overwhelmed 💙💙💙

Laura and the Glastonbury Football Club organised a Christmas Tea Party with carols from the Glastonbury Brass Band. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and an amazing £280 was raised on the evening. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped organise the event. 💙💙💙

Today we attended the service at St Johns Church for the lighting of the Christmas Trees. We have decorated a tree every year (except covid ☹️) for Amy. It is another way of remembering her especially at Christmas time which she loved (mainly for the presents!) 💙Thank you to everyone on who came and supported us xxx

Last minute decision to enter the Baltonsborough Fun Run - 5 miles.  Well done Martin and Nathan.

In 2018 we created a Picnic Area in memory of our daughter Amy.  It is so lovely to see families, walkers, cyclists and dogs having a rest on the benches.  Any planting advice is greatly received!We have recently had a bench upgrade (May 2025).  Many thanks to Nathan and Cosmo for replacing the wood on the benches and surprised me by painting them blue!If you use the area and would like to make a donation on behalf of Asthma + Lung UK, post a picture or a thought, you are welcome to use this page.I kept finding small donations in the card box at the picnic area.  This was such a lovely and kind thought from strangers using the picnic area.  We have now installed a post box for donations which are then added to this page.
